Future:
It is intended that each phase of construction will occur in succession over a period of ten years. Some factors that will determine the final outcome of the plan are: availability of grant money, obtaining a local match, land acquisition, community support, local government, and feasibility of construction.
The Chinworth Bridge Trail and the Heritage Trail are currently in construction. The only route slated for future construction is Phase II of the Beyer Farm Trail, which will connect Hodges Addition to the Beyer Farm Trail.
All additional pathways to be considered for future development will have input from property owners and neighborhoods before any decision to pursue development is reached. The integrity of each neighborhood is of utmost importance to the city administration and to the Lake City Greenway steering committee. Each property owner in any neighborhood that might be impacted will be invited to be an integral part of the decision making process to determine future pathway feasibility.
